Materials Required: 3 tubes Tower Brand Plyon for bag and gloves. Steel crochet hook No. 10. 1 pair Tower Brand Plastic "Bagbones". 8 inch slide fastener. Same instructions for right and left gloves.

Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (d c), stitch (st)

GLOVES

  • To Start: Ch 90 and join.
  • 1ST ROUND: Ch 2, * 1 dc, skip 2, ch 2, repeat between *'s.
  • Make 4 more rounds like 1st round (30 loops around).
  • 6TH ROUND: Like 1st round, but increase 1 loop in the 3rd and 6th loops. Then make 9 more rounds like 6th round, increasing 1 loop in each increased loop of previous round.
  • 16TH to 19TH ROUNDS: Like 1st round.
  • 20TH ROUND: Work up to the 1st increase, ch 10, skip 10 loops, for thumb, dc in next loop, work around like 1st round and make 4 loops over the ch 10 (44 loops).
  • 21ST to 28TH ROUNDS: Like 1st round.

LITTLE FINGER

Count 13 loops from the last increase of the thumb, ch 9, skip 10 loops, 1 sc in the next loop, sl st back of the ch sts, make loops in the 10 loops and 3 loops on the sl st (13 loops). Work 7 rounds no increase, next round decrease 1 loop between fingers (all decreases should be on the side between the fingers). Then make 1 round with loops of 1 ch instead of 2. Next round dc only. Finish finger with 2 sc. Break off.

NEXT FINGER

  • Begin finger on inside the glove. Make sl st on sc of ch st. Work loops around the glove until you come to 5 loops before the little finger. Ch 7, sc on other side (outside) of glove 5 loops from little finger, make loops around, (15 loops). Work 2 rounds even.
  • Next round decrease 1 loop. Make 2 rounds even, 1 round decrease, 2 rounds even, 1 round decrease, 2 rounds even, next round with ch 2 loops, next round with ch 1 loops, next round dc only. Finish off same as little finger.

MIDDLE FINGER

  • Work same as other finger. Make 16 loops. Decrease in 4th, 6th and 10th rounds. Work 14th round with ch 1 loops.
  • Next round with dc. Finish off. 4th finger same as other finger. 16 loops.
  • Decrease in 4th, 6th and 9th rounds. 13th round with ch 1 loops.

THUMB

  • Work 2 rounds even. Decrease 1 loop every other round, 4 times.
  • Next 2 rounds decrease ea round.
  • Next round even.
  • Next round with ch 1 loops.
  • Next round with dc. Finish off.

BORDER

  • At beginning of glove, make 2 sc in ea loop, 1 sc in the dc.
  • MOTIF FOR CUFFS & BAG
  • Ch 7 and join to form ring.
  • 1ST ROUND: Ch 3, 23 dc in ring, join with sl st to 3rd st of ch 3 first made.
  • 2ND ROUND: Ch 5, skip 1, 1 sc (making loop). Make 11 loops same as the 1st, on the 12th loop make 2 ch and 1 dc in the sc of the 1st loop.
  • 3RD ROUND: * Ch 7 and sc into the loop * repeat between *'s around, then close the row with ch 3 and 1 dc in the dc of the 1st loop.
  • 4TH ROUND: * 12 dc in loop, sc in next loop, ch 8 and sc in next loop * repeat between *'s around, closing with ch 4 and triple crochet in the 1st dc.
  • 5TH ROUND: ** Ch 5, dc in the 2nd dc, * ch 1, dc in next dc * repeat between 's 9 times more, ch 2, dc in middle of loop, then repeat from ** around.
  • 6TH ROUND: Ch 5, sc in loop, ch 5, sc between the 2nd and 3rd dc of previous round, ch 5, sc after the 4th dc of previous round, ch 5, sc in next ch 1 space, ch 7, sc in same space, ch 5, sc in next space, ch 5, skip 1 dc, sc in next dc (This makes the corner). Work around the same way for the other sides.

TO JOIN MOTIFS

Place motifs together and with ch 3, sc one ch 7 to the ch 7 of adjoining motif, then join the ch 5 loops across round with ch 2 and sc to ch 5 loops of adjoining motif. Join 4 motifs and attach to glove. On edge of glove make 5 sc in ea loop.

BAG

  • To start: Ch 60, dc in 4th ch from hook.
  • Make 21 rows of dc. Make 12 motifs and join as illustrated.
  • Then attach to center piece. Make other side of bag the same way. Join both sides of bag. Sew "bagbones" inside bag 3\4 inch from top. Sew in lining and slide fastener.

HANDLES

  • Using yarn double, make a ch 25 inches long.
  • Make 8 chains and braid 4 each for 2 handles. Attach to bag.
