Required: J. & P. Coats Tatting-Crochet, Size 70: 1 ball each of
No. 8 Blue, No. 9 Yellow and No. 48 Hunter's Green, or J. & P.
Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30:
SMALL BALL: J. & P. COATS—1 ball each of No. 8 Blue, No. 9 Yellow
and No, 26-B Bright Nile Green, or CLARK'S O.N.T.—1 ball each of No. 8
Blue, No. 9 Yellow and No. 48 Hunter's Green, or J. & P. Coats Big
Ball Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30: 1 ball each of No. 8
Blue, No. 9 Yellow and No. 48 Hunter's Green, or Clark's Big Ball Three
Cord Mercerized Crochet, Size 30: 1 ball each of No. 8 Blue, No. 9
Yellow and No. 48 Hunter's Green. Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 13
for Size 70; No. 10 for Size 30. 2/3 yard black velvet ribbon, 3/8 inch
wide. 20 rhinestones. 1 pair earring backs. 2 snap fasteners.
Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (d c), stitch (st)
NECKLACE
Flower (Make 11): Starting at center with Blue, ch 8. Join with sI st to form ring.
FIRST PETAL
- 1st row: 4 sc in ring. Ch 3, turn.
- 2nd row: Skip first sc, dc in next 3 sc, Ch 3, turn.
- 3rd
row: Skip first dc, holding back on hook the last loop of each dc make
dc in next 2 dc and in top of turning chain, thread over and draw
through all loops on hook (cluster made); ch 3, sI st in tip of
cluster.
- Now, working along side
of petal, (ch 3, sI st in base of next row) twice; sI st in ring. Make
4 more Petals like this. Join and break off.
CENTER
- With Yellow, ch 6. Join with sI st to form ring. 12 sc in ring.
- Join and break off. Sew Center to flower.
STEM (Make 10): Using Green double make a chain 1½ inches long.
Starch
flowers lightly and press. Cut a piece of velvet ribbon 15½ inches
long. Make a ½ inch hem on each end. Sew flowers evenly spaced to
ribbon. Sew Stems between flowers. Sew a rhinestone to Center of each
Flower. Sew snap fastener in place on each end.
BRACELET
- Make 5 Flowers and 4 Stems as before.
- Sew to remaining piece of ribbon in same manner.
EARRING
- Make 2 Flowers as before.
- Paste to Earring back.
