Materials Required: dark's O.N.T. "Brilliant", 1 ball of any self-shading or solid
color. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 8.
Chain (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (d c), stitch (st)
- Starting at center, ch 2.
- 1st round: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
- 2nd round: 2 sc in each s c around.
- 3rd round: * Sc in next s c. 2 sc in next s c. Repeat from * around.
Continue to make s c in each s c) increasing 6 sc at equal distances apart on each round, having increases fall directly over those of previous round. until piece covers one side of compact. Work 1 round without increasing. Do not break off, but make picot edge as follows: * Ch 4, sI st in 3rd st from hook, ch 1, skip 1 s c, sI st in next s c. Repeat from * across 2 sides of hexagon. Fasten and break off.
Make another piece same as this, but do not break off. Place the 2 pieces together, having picot edges match, and sI st through both thicknesses around the other 4 sides of hexagon. Fasten and break off.
