Slipper mold measuring 1 1/2 inches at widest part of sole and measuring 3 5/8 inches from heel to toe.
STARTING AT HEEL:
- Chain (ch) 3, 9 double crochet (d c) in 3rd stitch (st) from hook, join in 3rd st of ch.

DIRECTIONS FOR STARCHING: Dissolve 1/4 cup starch in 1/2 cup of cold water. Boil about 1 1/4 cups of water, remove from flame, then slowly stir the starch mixture into boiling water stirring constantly. Place back on flame until it thickens. As soon as starch is cool enough to handle, dip slipper, squeeze starch through it thoroughly. Wring out extra starch. The article should be wet with starch but there
